"There was a "brake check" station on the way down. A ranger shot a temperature measurement with a laser thermometer. If your brakes were too hot, you had to pull over and let them cool down...Conveniently, right next to a gift shop!!! What a coincidence!"
When we where there in "07, I stopped and the woman shot the thermometer at the front of my truck. If I remember right it was only like 120*. She wanted to know how I kept it so cool coming down the mountain. I said years of truck driving experience and engine braking on the truck.
Enjoyed the write up and the Pictures. Some of the pictures brought back memories of our trip back in 2002.
