| I think something like these might just be a little more practical. $29.95 Fact: fingers are warmest when huddled together in a Mitt. The perfect piece of gear when the weather takes a nasty turn. Made from 2 layers of breathable, waterproof IceTech™ material, with 150 grams of Thinsulate™ Insulation in between. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?p=WX2&i=173186Forearm length for extra protection, sealable to keep snow out. Flexible, too. Available in 5 sizes, But, it would be cool to have polar bear, caribou, wolf mittens!!! | |

| Tumbleweed, you're right. Have to consider more than just cost... Picture this: You and several of your ridin' buddies are hitting the trails. It's bitter cold. Howling wind. Blowing snow. You've been riding for two hours with two more hours to go before you reach your favorite outlaw diner, when you encounter a huge tree blocking your route. Everyone stops to plan a new GPS route. All your buds are griping about how miserable they are. There's you. Helmet off, sipping a cold drink and gnawing on a frozen Slim Jim. One of your buds ask you, hey, aren't you cold?! That's when you extend you gloved hands and with a head nod and curled lip, say they're made out of polar bear fur. Oh baby... cool factor clear off the charts! | |

| Okay I hate it when my hands get cold but I love to ride in the winter. This is my fool proof way to keep them toasty in any weather. Some might call it over kill but I have ridden Rock House in January -8 when we went out and 16 high for the day. I use these And this moose grip heaters These gloves This fits in the zipper pocket on the back of the gloves. Super toasty hands | |

| I've got a pair of this brand & a similiar style (older). I could hardly bring myself to pay so much for pair, but I don't even mind it when my hands are warm & dry all day long. We each got a pair several years ago at Gander Mountain. I also agree with your fingers and hands staying warmer inside a "mitt" style glove. http://www.manzella.com/index.php/products/detail/mz-171 | |

| I have found that at times the better/more insulated gloves and mittens will actually reduce the effectiveness of the heated grips. They will block out the heat as well as the cold! That doesn't mean that I won't have heated grips in a couple of weeks!!! | |

| I have a big pair of the Cabelas snowmobile mittens and a store of those little hand wamers that I put in the mittens in case of severe cold. | |

| We are going to war vs. the cold with these. Gore-Tex® Ten Below MittenHopefully these are made in the USA, since the company is out of Buffalo. I'm tired of imported junk. | |

Nope ,made in Newnan, GA. I've been to plant, put in an industrial oven for their jet ski line. I suppose some parts are from Japan, but Jap stuff is of better quality than anything else from the Far East.

| I wouldn't say all the parts are made overseas. They cast their own hulls for jet skis in Newnan, hence the need for our oven to bake on the finish. So I would suspect some atv parts are made their too.

| FYI, the 700/550's are made/assembled in Japan. Production moves to Georgia in 2012-2013. There was an article in Atv Magazine a few months back. | |

| Alright ~ I came across this same pair at Gander Mountain yesterday. $30 ... Overall, very nice and roomy, looked well made $21 online http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=411137&pdesc=Clam_IceArmor_Mitts&aID=501F3&merchID=4006But of course right next to them was their next best pair in the model line -up. $40 ... called Xtreme, beefy looking, thicker padding w/ a hot pocket zippered pocket built into the back of the hand. Also felt very nice. - Tumbleweed wrote:

I guess the engineer at the plant that I was dealing with doesn't know what's going on down there on ATV side then.

| Yippee, they were finally delivered late yesterday! Here's my short review. Keep in mind that I haven't worn them out on a ride yet. 1: Very well made. 2: Velcro strap across the back of the wrist to help hold heat in. 3: Elastic gaiter at the forearm to keep snow and wind out. Both straps are adjustable with the mittens on, pulling with the other mitten. 4: 150 gram thinsulate 5: "Leather" like palm, fingertips and thumb areas. Not sure what the material is, tag says "Amara". 6: Liner is waterproof and breathable. 7: Machine wash and dry. I got size Large, my typical size. the fit is good. The outer shell seems like a cordura type of material. For $29.99 + S&H they seem like a very nice purchase. | |

| I just read the review/thread mentioned by Ruger. Seems like folks aren't too impressed. I guess I'll find out when I try them in a couple of weeks. I do wonder if the 2 different outdoor sports require different types of hand gear. | |
