| Winter Storm Warning in Eastern North Carolina
Posted 8 minutes ago – National Weather Service
Wintry precipitation will diminish this evening, but redevelop late tonight and Wednesday morning.
A complex weather pattern producing widespread wintry precipitation over eastern North Carolina will continue into evening. Ongoing widespread snow with some sleet and freezing rain along the Crystal Coast will gradually diminish this evening, with a mix of freezing rain, freezing drizzle and flurries possible mainly along the coast overnight. Developing low pressure approaches the area late tonight then moves along or just off of the North Carolina coast Wednesday through Wednesday evening. The second batch of winter weather associated with the developing low will be a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain, especially across inland portions of eastern North Carolina. Wintry weather should transition to all rain through the afternoon Wednesday.
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 am EST Wednesday.
•Accumulations: snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches, along with around a tenth of an inch of ice.
•Timing: through midday Wednesday. Moderate to occasionally heavy snow will taper off this evening. There will be a break overnight before more wintry weather affects the area in the form of freezing rain, sleet, and snow late tonight through Wednesday morning. The precipitation will change to mostly rain Wednesday afternoon.
•Impacts: roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will remain hazardous through Wednesday morning. Wintry weather should transition to all rain Wednesday afternoon with road conditions improving.
•Winds: northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
•Temperatures: around 25 to 30.
•Wind Chill, as low as 16. | |

| Hey ya'll, watch this. At first I was pi$$ed about my flights to Miami being cancelled due to all of this winter storm crap, especially since I had been bumped to 1st class. Other arrangements were made and I quickly got over it. Still ended up with a pretty good seat in row 2. The 'airline bottles' were bigger with this carrier, and there wasn't much of a line at baggage claim. All of this courtesy of this winter storm crap. The company evidently wanted me down here awful bad... | |
