| Hi Everyone! Hubby and I are at Ashland Resort for a few days. We had a wedding to attend in Hico at the Confluence Resort on Saturday. We figured since we were so close why not spend a few more days and bring the quads. We checked out the New River Bridge while we were there and did some riding through the country in the rental car near Bragg and Shady Springs. We parked for a couple nights at the Shady Rest RV Park. Full hook-ups and wifi for $25 a night. It is a small campground with about 23 spots, with great people and some bluegrass music picking on Saturday night. Steve, Sonja and their son Jeff have a nice place.
Arrived here Sunday night and had a great day of riding yesterday at IR. We rode out 12, then into Ashland heading up the mountain on 18 then out 14, 13, 16 to 46. Rode to 28, 37, 38 and 34. Since we got a late start we headed back to camp. Weather was nice, not too hot as long as we were moving! Was nice to see all the foliage for a different view. Normally when we are here, it is early spring or late fall so no leaves! Dinner of crockpot chicken, fresh squash and pepper slaw finished out a wonderful day.
Today we got an earlier start and rode the tight trails on the east side of the campground. Ran them backwards from what we normally do for a change. 12, 50, 52, 64,62, 76, 55, 54, 60 and back to 12. Lots of mud and water since there was rain overnight. It was still early so we took the trails into Northfork. There we hit 52 and went into Kimball to the Walmart. Our awning strap broke upon arrival and we were hoping to find one there. No luck, but it was a nice ride. We headed south on Rt. 52 taking a left onto Carswell Hollow Rd. We followed it to the top of the mountain. We headed back toward Keystone on Keystone Mt. Burke Mt. Rd. Back to Rt. 52. We took the hard road back to the campground covering a total of 62.5 miles.
Weather was hotter today and much more humid! As long as we were moving it wasn't too bad. Dinner of spaghetti and meatballs from the crockpot again.
Another great day in WV! Just wish it was closer so we could ride here more often. We have to check out and head back to reality tomorrow. Maybe we should set the alarm and do an early morning ride before we pack up.

| Sounds fun. Nice report. You know this group well even though we haven't gotten to ride together yet... you included the "Food Report" in your ride report. Sounds like it was yummy. | |

| Thanks for the very nice report. ?? Is squash and pepper slaw one dish or two separate items? Either way, what is pepper slaw, please? Sounds like something that might go great with (or on) a burger. | |

| PP....no squash and pepper slaw two different dishes. As for the pepper slaw it is like coleslaw but better! it is cabbage, green peppers, and a dressing that is sweet and tangy with celery seed. my mom makes it for me. i'll have to ask her how she makes it and share with you. | |
