Outlawin & Explorin

Another weekend of riding thanks to DJ750 for inviting Wacker and I along on a ride he and his friends had planned.


I met Wacker in Beckley for dinner around 6:00pm. We soon were full and headed to Mullens. We arrived at RCH Lodging and settled in for the night.

Friday we started out in the cool mountain fog around 9:00am. We did a little exploring north of RCH.






After finding some old mining buildings we headed north across Rt10 towards Twin Fall State Park. Can't ride inside the park but found some decent trails just south of it and ended up down in the hollow crossing Cabin Creek.



Tried to find a way to Pineville but ended up back on Rt10 just a little bit west of where we crossed it earlier. So we headed back for camp and lunch. After lunch we headed for the Wheel and ended up on top of the View. Back to camp for the night, 75 miles total for the day.


Saturday we rode a new route from RCH to Welch and the Sterling Drive In.







After lunch and a few peanut butter milkshakes we headed for back for RCH.




Wacker & I found a couple new trails and new place to stay around Welch. After 84 miles we were back at RCH for dinner. Jimmy was the designated camp cook and fine job he did. Grilled chicken w/shells and sauce one night. Grilled pork loin, corn on the cob, green beans, saurekraut, pickles, and brown beans. Green beans, kraut and pickles were all canned by his Dad fresh out the garden. Good stuff. Larry, his wife and grand duaghter ate with us Saturday night.

We are staying at RCH this weekend and always like new trails.

Weather was good, just a little rain on friday afternoon.

Track we used to get from Pineville to Welch is same track from the 2 that rode over to Kentucky on WV SxS forum.

I need to clean up the track near Twin Falls, but you are going to run into some roadblocks on the way over there.

I too have to say "Hat's Off" to DJ750 & his group for the invite and a great weekend of sharing their FOOD and trail information with us.
We had some really good eats and rode through some very nice scenery. Was glad we got to take you all to the Sterling Drive Inn.
As always the time goes by to fast.

Hey DJ. You say Ruger told you all about his beloved? Did he tell you about playing the game Taboo with her? One of the funniest things I've ever witnessed. That girl was brutal!! And very entertaining, too.

Ah yes Taboo, the game that brings couples closer together. Closer to ringing each others necks!
