| I was invited to join a couple of sport quad riders at Mountain Top. It was different. Only about 110 miles total and I bet 12 of that was looking for the sport quads! They had a tendancy to get out of my sight... Two of us rode with Ferrell and his son David Thursday afternoon. ...while Joe slept. Darby, a friend of Joe's showed up Thursday night. It was frightening. We woke up and he was there. Didn't even hear him come in. Three made it to Bramwell Friday for lunch. ..while Joe slept. That's a neat little town! Looks like the new trailhead will be about 500 yards from the Bramwell turnoff. Right by a little gray / white church. They have pushed a new trail that intersects the route to Windmill Gap Road (in that cleared area in the hot sun)... Another rider showed up Friday night and I met yet another @ 9AM Saturday morning. After waiting and waiting and waiting for breakfast to be over, we headed toward Jakes. Joe's Raptor was leaking so much oil he had to return to the cabin. He rode in the Terex with Roger. The Terex did experience what I suspect was a vapor lock kind of thing (man was it hot). Not many photos, sorry. These just don't do this hill justice: For those that didn't pack it in with them (everybody but me), a late lunch was eaten here. It was a good time but it was hot. Did I mention it was hot? | |

| Looked like you had a good time, except maybe for the heat. Place in Bramwell looked like a nice place to eat.
Who is Ferrell, I have seen him mentioned in other posts over on WVATV.

| Ferrel is one of the brothers that own the property where MTC is located. Although not involved any longer, he was my first point of contact.
Jesse, some call him Bobby, runs the show now. Darryl passed away in 2006.
There was a soda shop kind of place on the corner in Bramwell. Old fashioned counter and such. We'll try that place next time!

| With out a doubt eat at the corner soda shop. Fabulous specials and an old fashion soda fountain. Great Mint Chocolate milk shakes with a Thin Mint on top. | |
