| FOUND THIS: Thursday, September 02, 2010 GRASSFLAT - Cooper Township Supervisor Charlie Saggese emphasized notification of a public meeting the township received from People Protecting Communities. The Surface Transportation Board is hosting a public meeting at Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School Sept. 14 from 6-9 p.m. to make a brief presentation and solicit final comments regarding the environmental assessment findings published in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for a proposed rail line that would service the proposed Resource Recovery landfill. The 20-mile rail line is located in eastern Clearfield County primarily in Morris and Cooper townships and in western Centre County in Rush Township and Snow Shoe. Reactivation of the rail banked eastern segment would result in the loss of approximately 9.3 miles (about 50 percent) of the Snow Shoe multi-use Rail Trail that includes Peale Tunnel and the Viaduct Bridge.
I HOPE WE DONT LOOSE THIS PLACE

| Just FYI:
Gorton Road on the SSRT riding map is now nice and smooth with brand new blacktop job put down.
I can't see that work being for just for a couple hundred summer/hunting camps in the area.

Some more good info when I got to talk with an SSRT board member about a few different things... The blacktop job for the township road was paid for by the company putting in the gas well and maybe the gravel quarry on Gorton Road to help out the two homeowner development associations on the road. Less dust with the increase in truck traffic... NOTE: The state has now completey removed the bridge in Clarence near Ludwigs Market, but SSRT is working on a lease agreement to continue on; traveling behind the refactory and then cross the creek to access Tennessee Turnpike. Timeframe listed on SSRT website: "BRIDGE CLOSURE - Penn DOT has notified the SSRTA that they are closing the bridge in Clarence by Snow Shoe Refractory. It will be closed for approximately 3 months starting Friday, April 1, 2011. There will not be access to Tennessee Road for SSRT."

| When we were up last weekend, we went down the next road down from the rail trail in Clearance. It took us around and out onto Clearance road. Bypassing the bridge. Hope to get the new buggy up there in the next month. | |

"New buggy" What gives... anymore info or pictures. The road you took is Pancake Road, it gets you there, but it's not exactly legal. Their not wanting the locals to get upset with ATV's running up & down the road. Just try to travel safe and slow when in that area with the least amount of noise. Let's get together and ride...
