well I have Jo's kodiak torn down but I cant get the axle to release from the housing. From what I've ready on Grizzy central seems like you have to disassemble both the inside and outside cv joints to change the outer boot. Anyhoo while tearing it down I found out the bearings I just put in back in the spring are already bad so I'm holding till I get some new bearings to replace that. Ohhhhh the joys of riding in the mud Laughing

Bob. If the axles have never been out of the rear case they may be a pain to get out. Spray some penetrating lube down around the axles and let it set. They may be rusted in place if you can not move them any. I had to take the 02 700 diff. down to the dealer and have them finally get it out. had new seals put in while they had it apart. Then put "never seaze" on the splines before I put it back together.
