The Mrs and I are slowlee getting ready for our motorcycle trip with Throttleboss and his Boss next week. We've rented a house kind of behind Harrah's Casino in Cherokee with plans to ride some of the Parkway, the Cherohala Skyway, and of course The Dragon. This will be my third time out there on a bike and it's still feels like the first. Route review is underway!

Cool! How far is that from your neck of the woods!
Yampol & I used to travel some on the m/c but never made it to that area!

I had the KLR on the Dragon in 2009. It was different on the knobbys!

I look forward to riding the Beast there next week! That will be 3 trips on 3 different bikes. What's up with that? LOL

Call it a full dress rehearsal if you will, but Explorer and I met in Goldsboro for a bike ride yesterday. Seeking shade of any kind, our first stop was Cliffs of The Neuse State Park.

It was hot as 40 hells out there! SWEAT was the word of the day. We made a haphazard loop of sorts and parted ways here for the ride home. I logged 170 miles, John had to have closer to 275 since he came out of Raleigh.

They hit a few times on the Skyway and Parkway. When we rode the Dragon it happened quite frequentlee. Chris and Sonja were behind us and Chris commented on hearing them drag. One time it was rather severe - I could feel the bike shift a little. My Wife said I was just showing off. But I wasn't trying to... Laughing

The 'moment' that most concerned me was when I hit the throttle in a tunnel to show that sport bike in front of me I had power too, and broke traction. It was a wee bit wet in there! Dodging the truck in my lane on US19 was a piece of cake. affraid

Ask Wacker what can happen. One of his riding buddies exhaust hit the pavement and down they went. He has a video of it somewhere. At least they think it was the exhaust.

Anyway it looks like you had fun.
