| Weather 4-cast for Friday is 60-62 and Sunny for Charleston , Williamson , Delbarton. Rain Saturday. Thinking about loading up and heading down for a Friday ride to either Buffalo Mtn or checking out Ivy branch . Any interest ? | |

| Weather permitting, and that is the key, I intend arrive around 1PM to ride a little on Little Coal Friday the 27th. The 28th will be Ivy day. Ride Sunday until about 3 on one or the other and then come home. I've never rode either of these systems and hope to finally be able to say "H3ll yea, I've rode all of Hatfield's systems".
It's a 7 hr drive for me - weather permitting. The truck is only 2WD.

One night you must eat at the Quaker Steak & lube in South Charleston off 119 There are parts of our old race cars in there and I'm in some of the pics on the wall ( unless they took them down ) they used to sponsor us in racing .

| Yes, it was fun . $10 spent in the redneck mud bay at the local car wash with the atv on the trailer cleaning off all the clay, Left them a nice big slippery pile of WV finest | |

| Mini report - Trails were nice and soft from all the melted snow . Lots of gooey sticky clay that builds up . Some black trails ok. Some have some rock issues and some look pretty crappy. We didn't do all the blacks because it was slick as snot and Eds rear brakes were almost shot so we had to conserve on the steep downhills. A nice rocky creek trail is there . All blue trails are nice . HM has a sense of humor with those red / black "trails" or whatever they are supposed to be . It looks like they just plant a trail number post randomly where there is no trail or anything , just some rocks or a Highwall face . There is a lot of UDT going in all directions away from the trails & quite a bit of posted no trespassing along the perimeter. There are train tracks and a trestle in UDT land and a SMD UDT trail running between the tracks and the river. I like it there but it's really a small area , we made a lap around the perimeter in an hr going about 10-13 mph. When they get the official connector to LCR there will be enough trail between the 2 systems to make a days ride . I think it can be outlaw connected via Ivy Branch road off black 84, a little hardtop , cross 119 and a steep UDT on the other side of 119 going into LCR .

| Funny people at HM, I have to admit , with their ultimate in UDT We did come across one of those red / black tht was actually makeable , I think it was marked 90. This one is 89 wit the crooked tree The actual trail is to the left , the bypass is steaight up behind the sign They should make this a Creek Trail red/black like some of the others | |
