| Good afternoon all!! We are starting the talks surrounding another HM trip. We did Rockhouse (not all of it) last July. I have done it a couple times before and have no problem doing it again. That being said, we are looking at other options. We are thinking about PC & IR this time. We like the fact that you can ride both from 1 location. The important items for us are being able to park the trailer and ride everywhere we need to until we leave. Thats why we like Man and Gilbert. Are there good places to stay around PC & IR with the same amenities (grocery store, gas, etc.)? Keep in mind that we are on sport quads and do not have much ability to take gas with us. What is the difficulty level of PC & IR? Rockhouse was about perfect for the group we have. We were all comfortable on the blue trails but the newbies still felt a good sense of challenge. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

| Ashland / Crumpler would put you closer to the middle. One way one day, the other way the next day kind of thing. Hmmm... on the stores though. Between Rosebuds, Jakes, and the campground you can get what you need - that you forgot. Welch is about a 30-35 mile run and you can gas before you return.
Bramwell, Mullens, Pineville, Keystone, and the campground have gas. Longest run, Pineville, would be about 40-45 miles one way. Via 100% Hatfield trails it may be a touch longer. Somebody on here knows exactly.
We usually (always) stay in Crumpler. Park, unload, and ride. Forget the hauler until it is time to go back home. | |

| Pinnacle Creek/Indian Ridge is my favorite, lots of trails and town connectors. RCHlodging is the place to stay. Its on the far side of PC 1/2 mile from the connector. Plenty of local trails too. | |

| On the difficulty level I think you will find IR and PC trails a little on the easier side than Rockhouse | |

| Thanks to all. This is great information and will definitely help our decision. One of the reasons we are still looking at heading to Rockhouse is the convienience of having everything (gas, grocery, etc.) right in town (either Gilbert or Man). Is Waynes a full service grocery like Foodland? If we decide to head to PC and IR we are leaning to staying in Mullens.
Thanks again | |

| Mullins has a little grocery store and gas a few restaurants. About 20 mins. up the road in Sophia there is a Wal-Mart. | |

| As mentioned earlier in this thread, the Crumpler area is in the middle of these two systems and the outlaw trails. Mtn Top Cabins is an ideal location that is in the middle. The only draw back to Mullins is that it is at the NE corner of where you will want to ride, IMO. If you have a Garmin GPS you can download a map of all the trails in this area including IR & PC and Outlaw trails. The link is below: ATV Trails MapYou can also get a free WV Topo map at the same site. | |

| Just a reminder that if you choose to lodge in Gilbert, Livingood Lodging offers QCR's a 10% discount on their unit rental. | |
