Turns out his mother-in-law had fallen & cut & bruised her eye. He over reacted.
Hey leave my Fed Ex & UPS drivers alone
AMBRIDGE — An Ambridge man has been charged with simple assault and making terroristic threats after he allegedly attacked a Fed Ex driver trying to make a delivery.
Ambridge Patrolman Brad Davis said the driver, whose name he would not disclose, was in an alley behind Merchant Street around noon Wednesday making a delivery to The Vac Shop when the driver and a store employee heard a noise. The two men turned to see a Jeep driving down the alley in a reckless manner, and Erid Reid got out of it, Davis said. Davis said the men described Reid as acting “rageful.”
Reid, 44, was yelling obscenities and threats and demanded that the driver move the tractor-trailer, which the driver couldn’t do, Davis said. At that point, Reid looked into the cab of the truck but discovered there were no keys inside, Davis said.
The Fed Ex employee was in the trailer of his truck, and Reid jumped into the back of the trailer and grabbed the driver by the neck, Davis said. The Fed Ex employee, fearing he was going to be thrown from the trailer, went along with Reid and got out of the trailer, Davis said.
Reid then got back into his vehicle and drove off, Davis said.
The Fed Ex employee told police Reid said something when he initially got out of his car about needing to get to his mother-in-law’s house because she was bleeding.
