Anybody have any experience with one of these. I notice thats all the guys at the tire dealer are using anymore. After tripping over the airhose for the umpteenth time I was looking at them at Lowes today. They had one that did 800 lbs for 109 bucks. While I doubt it really does have that much torque it would be nice to get away from fighting that air hose.

Someone had one over New Years at PL's place.
They used it to swap to my spare ATV tires.
I don't remember the brand, Milwaukee I think.

Im about ready for some naptime... been wrneching on the ol' buckboard. It's presently only a two wheeler w/o a front end. A-arms off, hubs out, ball joints gone, starting to get the wheel bearings and seals out now. This little netbook comes in handy for looking up the parts fiche, don't want to tear out anymore seals from the knuckle then are coming in the new kit... Back to the wrench. Cool

Gbob I've used an older version of this one at work a couple of times. Does a great job for concrete lag bolts. I think it would do great for lug nuts also.

Shamrock Kid had one at the New Years ride. Very slick. Big time saver. I also think it was a Milwaukee Brand. I'm sure that model will be of good quality. Knowing them, they don't let price influence their purchase.

We use one at the mine for railcars. Rated at 600 ft pounds of torque. It's a beast. We had severe doubts about it being able to replace the work of a 24" pipe wrench. Some of the chemical cars we have to open up are from the Gulf Coast, where we are positive, angry convicts on work release get to take their frustrations out on 1 5/8 bolts. Mad

I forget the brand...We've had it +/- three years and the name has worn off the rubber outer case. It's either Mac or Proto, weighs around six pounds and cost several hundred dollars. Like everything else, dollars spent is up to you. Peak torque ratings and staying power over the duration of the job can be very different. Generally, you never go wrong buying the "better" tool to start with. Makes the job easier and usally results in fewer loud conversations between you and your quad. Mad Wink

G Bob, go to a race and they are everywhere. The Maxis tent uses them all day for tire changes. I have a friend that drag races and he has a 24 volt (I believe) Snap On. Very pricey but does the job. Saw a Sears 19.2 volt this morning in the paper for $119. I have a drill with that voltage and it lasts a good long time for the homeownwe use.

Is it good, bad or ugly? Shocked

Everything I read sounded alright, we'll install it tomorrow or Saturday.

What's your thoughts Question

Don'y know, but the guy that bought my old Rincon is looking to do the upgrade. He asked me about different ones. I told him I didn't know anything about them, and gave him a couple links to different ones for him to try to decide.
