PostSubject: Another Thanksgiving Drive and Ride report   Sun Nov 28, 2010 8:03 pm

HERE are my weekend pictures taken at Rockhouse and Bearwallow.

Take 2 hit the wrong button wiped out my report.

Monday lazy day.

Tuesday nice day for a drive 800 miles to Joplin, Missouri to deliver a lease car good trip.

Wednesday a day from HELL. Met the people who leased the car at 6am everything went well. No sooner got no the road and the rain started 800 miles of it along with half the people in the USA trying to get to Grandmaw's house. Saw no less than 7 wrecks with the big one at St.Louis I 44 closed, hit detour on the GPS it got me to I 255 and back to I 70 no lost time 15.5 houes later I'm home. lesson learned YEP don't drive on a holiday week.

Thursday went to the inlaws good meal good time.

Friday up early on the road again only this time for R&R in West Va. Arrived in Gilbert about 10am at Livingood lodging. On the trail by 10;30 headed out 12 in the direction of 42,41,26,45,30 and back to Gilbert. out to supper at the Blue Moon

Saturday worked my way in the direction of Man went as far as T29 up that on to 40 where 40 and 28 come together they had done some trail maintenance, didn't look at the map that close ended up on 28 everything good until I hit the top that is where the winch came into play just didn't feel safe trying it without the winch as it turns out it was not that bad. After that worked our way back to 35 and home. Somewhere in my travels I found 31 Cool my favorite.

In the pic. of the nig holes they are old coal bore holes I think in one pic. you can see where it caved in the other still looked OK. thanks Sportsman for a little more history of the holes. Saw several dozen of them.

Supper time again only this time we had company PL himself, ended up at the Blue Moon again good supper both nights.

Thanks Randy and Vivian for making it a great weekend, looking forward to a return trip SOON.

Sunday on the road by 8, such a nice day decided to stop at Bearwallow went clear out on 10 and back around. Saw 4 deer 3 doe 1 buck who stoped to pose for me.

Arrived home around 5:30. 400 miles on the truck 140 on the trails. Cleaning time today.

I was talking to a local guy when we were there in sept and he said that is where they core drill the coal and depending on how much he has seen the mtn drop 4.5-5ft when those bores collapse.

Gump I have a picture of my old riding partner back in one with just his head sticking out. I would post it but it is on the other computer which has been in the shop for the last 5 weeks. Going to check on it today.

Not too dangerous...the bears keep most of the intruders from venturing too far in! Not sure about the pics, Yampol...some of the photographers are not even fan club members?!
