There is a new trail system opening today near Parkersburg, West Virginia. They sell yearly permits, but if you buy one now, it is good for the rest of this year, and all of 2015! The price is $50 for adults, and $25 for under 17. Sounds like it may be a good place to ride, and they have camping there. Also, it is not far from Parkersburg, so motels should be available. This is about 100 miles west of my cabin, so I will definitely check it out this spring. If anyone gets there before me, give us a report. Sully

Yea, but wasn't the drive worth it though? 9 hrs for 15 miles? Not so much... LOL

This is about 20 mins. away from me. I actually worked at Mountwood Park for 3 years, '81-'84. 12-15 miles is not much for now. There would not be any meal stops available from the trails.

Yeah, the name of the trail is Mountwood, in Waverly, W.Va. Sorry I omitted it. Must be that old timers disease kicking in. They claim 20 miles of trail, with more coming.

Sure it was, even 1700 miles one way to Utah to ride for a week was worth it.

Hopefully they can expand in the future and make it worth the drive.

I guess I need to go check this out. My RZR and 2-UP made the trip on Sat. without me. Crying or Very sad  Close friends of ours asked to borrow them for a day out, I trusted  them as we have known each other for over 40 years. They said for an afternoon ride it was great, plenty of mud after the late morning rain storm. I think they brought about 200 lbs of it back with them after seeing the trailer and what was left on the bikes after a quick trip thru the car wash. They have a large graveled parking lot with plenty of room. May try it out next weekend. They have plans to add more trails in the future.
