I was on the Outer Banks since Thursday morning.  We are sponsors of a charity tournament.

New banner this year.  Mill Log is one of our distributors.

And this.  Something we all like!!

Looks easy to operate.

I had to return a few times for the ritualistic social drinking snacking thing.

The Wife and son #2 joined me Thursday evening.  We did our best to be full fledged tourist on Friday, signaling and slamming on the breaks at the last minute, and driving really slow in the left lane wherever we could.  We also went to see The Lost Colony outdoor theater in Manteo.  If was a first for Tyler (his request actually).  Linda or I haven't been there in over 20 years.

Roanoke Sound in the background

Indians!  Uh, feather Indians.  Sorry.

Reinforcements!!

And these people.  I was like "Really"?.  They had a time loading up this morning.   ;D

I had a good time.  It's the first time I've been on the O/B for a little unofficial vacation fun in years.  Having the family there was great!  Tyler loves the ocean.

Love it! I'm pretty sure that is required skill for driving on the OBX between milepost 1 and ~16,
but if you continue on 12 down to Hatteras, you need to add the skills of riding so close to the car in front of you so that the bumpers look like they are welded together and then, when there is a double yellow line in the middle of the road, suddenly veer to the left and gun it to about 80 mph to pass the car in front of you that is only traveling a mere 5 mph over the limit.  Smile

Sounds like a nice trip.

I didn't realize that I live in a tourist area. But apparently I do. In our area, the slamming-the-brakes-routine happens because the "tourist" HAS to pass one more car (you) before cutting in front of (you) while sliding into the wal-mart turning lane. I feel a rant coming on.

Thanks for the pics and narrative, Lee. Always good viewing!
