| Engine and Hid headlight conversion waiting for me when I got home ;D Engine is not even dirty , changed the oil and in it went ! Bolted up, now need to hook up all wiring and accessories . Also noticed that all control arm bushings are shot & the universal joints in the front driveshaft are wasted also :-\ May need rear hub bearings , too Explorer would have been shelling out some more $$$ Should be running tomorrow if there is no hidden punishment Then I will give it a better inspection So far only one missing motor mount bolt :-[ $2000 box of pink popcorn? | |

They are STI wheels with ITP center caps. Duro 26x9x12 power grip radials all 4 tires so you can rotate them Explorer said the OEM ones stuck out too far and one got knocked off so he found ITP replacements ..

| After repairing damaged crankshaft threads(from someone using a clutch puller) 2 snapped off coil mounting bolts, looking at pictures online to see line, wiring and hose routing, It's now burning dead Dinosaurs again! Throttle cable may be broken , it doesn't work. Then put the bodywork back on.

Seems to have some decent power .... .. Need every bushing front and rear for a-arms and spindles replaced - totally shot ... Need front drive shaft universal joints Need right side steering rack boot Needs blown rear muffler flange gasket replaced Needs one broken grease fitting extracted & replaced on rear arm Need to fabricate a rear underpan/engine skid plate...

| Jeff, you ask about u-joints got them from NAPA, Precision # 1501, for some reason I also put 812 on the box. They can be greased. I think Sportsman found some also but don't know the #. NAPA is the only place I found them.
From all the parts you are putting on it, it sounds like it has already been punished pretty good.
When you are ready for test drive give me a shout.

| How many miles were on it Jeff? I'm just stunned by the all the things in need of repair... If that's typical, I couldn't afford to operate one. | |

2090. Yes, pretty much typical Polaris issues. Polaris need greased after every ride and power wash. The ball joints and front drive shaft u-joints are sealed auto style parts which is why they are junk. If they could be greased they would survive. Bushings are cheap and need upgraded to something other than rubber. Hub bearings go bad on all makes/models due to moisture /mud.

| I think a 'Large' percentage of maintenance/repairs depends on, first off, where you ride - second, how you ride.... | |
