PostSubject: Don't Try This At Home   Tue May 07, 2013 1:51 am

We have too many cats and dogs. And every dog knows that cat food taste better than dog food. Because of that known fact, I had to build a house for the cats food bowl that the dogs couldn't get to. Just a simple 2x2x2 plywood box with a small opening on the back side. The top lifts up for easy food bowl checking. The cat house Rolling Eyes sits on our 2nd story covered deck. A few evenings ago, Wi-Fee was checking on the cats food supply after we had gotten home from eating out. Evidently our stove took another night off. Laughing So, Wi-Fee lifts the lid and sees our calico in the box. She is talking to Marshmallow and was just about to pet her when she realizes its a coon. What a Face Yikes! That could have really been bad. Luckily it turned out injury free. The lesson that can be learned from this is that no good can come from having a cat. cat

Some people just have to learn the hard way.

Pictures!? Brainyac types crack me up. Some of you in QCR land could probably assembly a portion of the space shuttle from broken and spare parts off your Grizz, but you need to see pictures of a square box to know what I am talking about.Laughing OK. After giving it some thought, here you go. Measurements are as relatable as I can come up with to cover most of the viewing audience. Laughing

Yueng Shandy HxW

Other units of measure. Some of you should remember the baggie of oatmeal cake crumbs from Maine. And the fishing lure from Canada. That's right, I still have both of those items and look at them often. If "you" forgot, rest assured I have not forgotten either one. And one of these days...payback time!! Wink The Amp ballcap is another measurement reference that also shows I root for Jr. That can only mean that I'm a hopeless optimist, no matter how much some of you pick on me. LaughingLaughingLaughing

Top view with lid removed. Plexy glass front except for a 6" (perfectly square) opening. The dogs can't twist their necks that far and still be able to get to the cats food bowl.

Wi-Fee is a blonde, but we have to give her a free pass on this one. Picture yourself looking down on this cat. In the dark. A raccoon could easily pass for this cat.

It was when Wi-Fee realized "marshmallow" was looking up and she didn't see her white bib that she realized it was a coon.

I hope this helps complete my story. If there are further questions, fire away. I'll do my best to answer them. Very Happy

A 2 beers by 2 and about a 3rd beers box. Easily understandable where I come from!

Good pic there wacker. Awww man, oatmeal cake. We were livin like kings weren't we? I sure hope Sportsman can hook us up with some of that desert cake again someday.

How about a couple more things to not do? Laughing

At work~~ I think the salt mine is trying to find my breaking point. I'm finally on the downhill side of over 20 work days in a row. 12 hour shifts. Not something I would recommend to anyone. It's a good thing I LOVE mining salt. Love it, baby! Sad

At a girls softball game~~ One of my work buds helps coach a 9-10 year old girls softball team. The other day his girls were down one run. It's their last at bat. They have a runner on first base. The go-ahead run steps to the plate. (They've only won one game). The opposing coach tells his pitcher to intentional walk the batter. My work bud (who is one super nice guy) says to the other coach--Are you serious??!! They're 10. So as the pitcher is throwing to her catcher, whom is now standing up just outside the batters box, my buddy politely, softly yells boooo. On the second pitch same thing. It is then that he notices the pitcher is crying. Ugh! He said he felt like an @**. So now he's talking to the opposing pitcher telling her he wasn't booing her, he was booing her stupid coach. Hearing my bud tell this story was hilarious. He's a really good guy. His first time coaching. Laughing

Like most younger kids sporting events...

It's the coaches and parents that take it more serious then the players themselves.

Hope he continues the coach for the kids and doesn't give up over it though.
