| http://picasaweb.google.com/edskq700/HMRockhouseBuffaloMtn?feat=directlinkThis is a link to the weekends pictures, I hope. Ride report is as follows: Day I Departed home at 5:30am Friday, May 28th. Arrived Rockhouse 9:30am. Beautiful warm day to start the weekend, headed out good ole T10 to 23 to 28 which was very rough, then to 40, to the Overlook Rock then on to just groomed T37 and on into Gilbert. Drove by PL's place, didn't see anyone around, so kept on going. Picked up 12 out of Gilbert to 32 which had a large locust tree across the trail and a group from Iowa trying to move it. With a little help from my little trusty hand saw, it moved. From there, picked up 33 which is the waterfall pictures, then on to 31 which is my favorite, trail was in good condition, then worked our way back to Man. Arriving back to the Trailhead about 6pm. Rockhouse definitely lived up to its name! Day II - Buffalo Mountain Departed about 9:30am Hooked up with Sportsman and Joyce in their new RZR, also had a lady friend that drives with me and her friend join us in her Mule, which made it to the Mine opening, she then said Goodbye and went back to the Trailhead, trails were too rough for the mule. Sportsman and I continued on into Matewan, back out and over to Williamson then back to the Trailhead. Of course not forgetting along the way. Arriving back to the trailhead about 6pm. Installed new 26 9's all the way around with highlifter springs, which gave me about 2" more ground clearance over stock, a little stiffer ride, but very stable. Jeff let me drive the new RZR with power steering, but I only want about a quarter of mile. Very impressed, smooth easy steering, could have been spoiled if had gone much further. Sportsman definitely broke the RZR in right, through the MUD and Over the Rocks. To steal a quote from Wacker "A good time was had by all". | |

| Nice pics Ed ..Glad you all had a good time. I had a hunting buddy that had a mule and I thought it was more of a work than a play machine. We had to do some trail maintence today also. Had to cut some trees and stack some rocks to get across a rough section of trail. Trying to clear the way for some razr drivers that are headed my way in a few weeks | |

| Joyce and I drove down to Logan Friday evening and stayed at the Holiday Inn. Ed and Bev was staying there too. Sat morning we were up early for the breakfast at the motel. Eggs, Bacon Sausage gravy and biscuits. Then it was off to Buffalo Mtn. We started out on trail 20 to the mine entrance, then 47 to the coal fire, out to 15and back to the mine. Joyce drove 15 to 13 and about half way out 13 till it got rougher. Then on to black 96 to the overlook, back down to 16, to 23, 35, 21 down into Matewan. Part of 23 was closed so we took 35. Also note; I believe 23 is the original trail into Matewan. After Lunch at the Depot resturant and fueling up in Ky, We headed back to the trail. Sorry Wacker no pictures of the burgers, we were enjoying the cool air inside and forgot. We went back up 21 to 18,16,17,13,15 to 12, then 11 to 10 and into Williamson. We found the gas station so Bev and Joyce could have a "potty" break and we gassed up again. We talked with a man and wife from Elkins Wv that were riding there Honda Goldwing. Then it was back up 10, 11 to 57, 56,11,42,55,58 back to 15 and the Trailhead. We covered 63 miles over 8 hrs. As allways "A good time was had by all" PS. Some mods will be needed on the Rzr, A differant skid plate, some 26in. Bighorns and spring adjustment. The PS was really nice to have in the tight turns. As Ed said he could get hooked on the PS. Also Joyce was happy to have a more comfortable ride. picture link; http://rides.webshots.com/album/577823909NBMDVC | |
